Privacy, in plain words

Most of the people using Tacto are children. That shapes everything below — we collect as little as we can, we delete the videos, and where the law says a parent has to agree first, the app will not work until they do.

What we collect

• Short videos your child uploads of themselves playing football.
• The coaching text produced from those videos, and a score per skill.
• One still image per clip, used as a thumbnail.
• Their birth month and year, used only to work out which rules apply.
• A random ID stored in their browser. No name, address or phone number.

What happens to it

• Each video is broken into still frames and sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to be analysed. Anthropic processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train models.
• The original video file is deleted from our servers as soon as the frames are taken — usually within a minute.
• The coaching text and thumbnail are kept so your child can track progress over time.

What we never do

• We do not sell or share your child’s data with advertisers.
• We do not show advertising.
• We do not ask your child for their real name, school, address or phone number.
• We do not make their profile public or visible to other players.

Coaches and teams

If your child joins a coach’s team using a code, that coach can see their skills and coaching notes — never their videos. Your child can pause this at any time without leaving the team.

Your rights

• See everything we hold about your child.
• Delete all of it, immediately and permanently.
• Withdraw this consent at any time, which stops all processing and deletes their data.

In the app: Skills → Delete everything. A parent can do the same from the permission link we emailed them. Both are immediate and permanent.

Children and parental permission

When someone first opens Tacto we ask what month and year they were born — never a full date of birth, and never a yes/no question about their age, because that just tells a child which answer unlocks the app.

If they are under the age of digital consent where they are, we stop. Nothing is analysed and nothing is stored until a parent or guardian opens a link, reads what is collected, and confirms. We keep a record of that decision — the date, time, the name they typed and the unique code from their link — so that permission is provable.

In the US that threshold is 13 under COPPA. In Europe each country sets its own under Article 8 of the GDPR:

If we cannot tell which country someone is in but they look European, we apply 16 — the strictest of them — rather than guessing in our own favour.

Where the data goes

Frames from a clip are sent to Anthropic, who run the AI model that produces the coaching. They process it on our behalf and do not use it to train their models. Everything else stays on our own server.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and there is nothing to sell because we do not collect names, addresses or phone numbers.
